MicrobiologyDX Biofilm Analysis

Analyzes structural communities of bacterial cells enclosed in self-produced polymeric matrices that can be up to 1000 times more resistant to antimicrobials than planktonic bacteria. Identifies whether MARCoNS and other bacteria are protected by biofilm structures requiring concentrations of antimicrobials three to four times higher than normal for bactericidal activity. Crucial for CIRS patients as biofilm-producing organisms create chronic colonization that standard treatments cannot eliminate. Enables targeted treatment approaches combining biofilm-disrupting agents (like EDTA) with appropriate antimicrobials, significantly improving eradication success rates for complex biotoxin illness cases.
